Flashlight Tag Extreme

A hybrid of several Yard Games classics, Flashlight Tag Extreme poses a challenge for both teams to collaborate

Players:	6 or more, but always an even number
Materials:	Flashlights - half as many as players (for example, 3 flashlights for 6 players)

Break up the group into two teams, one being IT and the others the HIDERS. the people who are It all need flashlights and they count to 100 while the other team runs off to hide. The taggers must keep their flashlights on at all times and use them to identify the hiders; when they do, they escort the hiders to jail and then try to catch the rest of the hiders. The hiders may save each other from jail when a free hider tags a jailed one. If that happens, the taggers must count to 30 before either may be tagged again. Once all of the hiders have been caught, the game ends.

There's a few reasons I really like this game. First, the fact that the flashlights must remain on at all times means that it's hard for anyone to be snuck up upon. That and the ability for hiders to free each other from jail shift the game strongly in the direction of the hiders. But I think you'll find this to be a fun hybrid of classic Yard Games like Wolves in the Woods and Detective so I'm all for giving it a try.
